Places to Avoid in Australia and Why

Your travel visa to Australia can't exactly tell you what places you should visit nor the places you should avoid. Knowing these, we are here to give you advice and precautions to make your Australian getaway more enjoyable. Australian places are really desirable and exciting, yet, just like in other countries, there are places that you should avoid. It can be because of danger, disappointments, expensiveness or anything. This message goes to everyone, a student, worker, traveler or businessman. Whether you are an immigrant or an original Australian citizen, you should heed to this warning. Because either of the two, there are still a lot of Australia that you need to learn.

It is not really the place but the factors relating to it. You are asked to avoid these places because of the danger, bad weather, or maybe because you might sneak in to a restricted area. Just remember that there are limitations to ensure your safety.

When you visit Australia, please be advised that you are not allowed to go to any mining sites, especially when you don't have an expert or skilled person walking along with you. You might get exposed to chemicals that may negatively affect your health. This place is tightly closed for mining workers and experts. If your aim is to research for school, you should contact first their management and get permission.

Beer and alcohol may be the most fun way to mingle and make friends with Australian. In fact, Aussies, if not the top, are one of the heaviest drinkers in the world. The results are often they went wayward. And so, the government imposed a law that limits the drinking areas, dry zones is what you call it. In South Australia, it is found at the Glenelg, Adelaide City Centre and Port Augusta. In Victoria, minors are strictly banned from alcohol and beer while they are totally banned in Canberra for all ages.

The Australian government is very much dedicated of taking care of its environment. It declared most of its tourist attraction sites as protected areas, meaning one cannot explore the place without the supervision of an authorized personnel. Visit Australia but be observant of what you do and where your feet are taking you so you won't violate any of their environmental laws. There are different institutions that manage the protection of different areas. The Australian government is watching the national parks, botanical gardens and marine reserves or parks. The Great Barrie Reef is manage exclusively by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority since it is a world-heritage site. Some protected sites are managed by the state or territory level. One you come to this places, make sure that you are exactly following their rules and regulations.

  3. Places to avoid in Australia: The Injinoo 'Community' (which is located at the very top of the Cape York Peninsula, Qld); any hotel in Murgon, Qld, on 'pension Thursday' (which is every second 2nd Thursday); Claude St or Robinson St or Cameron St in Yamba, NSW. Unfortunately, I can't tell you why you should avoid visiting any of these places. All I can say is that if you want your visit in Australia to be a pleasant one, don't go to any of these places.

  5. Can anyone suggest a reason as to why a local government who is always investigating ways to encourage visitors to this otherwise pleasant rural village persists with having a Tar Smelter located behind it's shopping strip making the air unbreathable, landing the locals with perpetual respiratory disorders and encouraging tourists to keep on driving????

This is Local Council Madness, plain and simple. It would be undoubtedly simple to move this polluting, toxic stench out of town to the local garbage depot, but unfortunately, Harden Shire has never gained a reputation for smart thinking...just a never ending stream of expensive patch up jobs which do NOT work!
